The Process • SPORT HORSES • Purchasing Paperwork

True or False? A pre-purchase exam guarantees your horse will be sound and have long-term good health.

False. The pre-purchase exam is a "snapshot in time", it is not a pass or fail test.

 -- Make choices that are right for you, your goals, and bank account.

 -- No horse is perfect! As a buyer, are you willing to deal with any problems found?

-- Get educated on the basics before the exam.

Why does it matter which vet you use? It is purely a medical exam with supporting data?

--The answer is , no it doesn't matter. It is an old way of doing things nothing more.

It should be a clinical diagnosis of a horses present health.

Educate Yourself

Understanding how to read a Radiograph, Ultrasound, listen to the heart, listen to the lungs, hoof palpitations is a benefit. Having a  clear understanding of a Proper execution of the Flexion is also important. It all gets taken into account and can be overwhelming, especially for someone who is buying their first horse.  Being prepared is always  best,  so as to have a good experience and not say no or regret the decision later. There's nothing worse than not buying a horse and being heartbroken for it later.

We understand that some of you have never purchased a horse before:

To get started on your next steps towards purchasing your equine partner,

we have made things a lot simpler!

Health and Wellness Certificate and More: Required Paperwork

A "HWC" agreement will be forwarded for you to sign prior to the examination of the equine you wish to purchase.  A "PSA" Purchase and Sale agreement will be required as well. All parties will have an opportunity to discuss thoroughly any question or findings, on site, the day of the exam.

You will need a minimum of 3:

Keeping it simple:

We will supply access to  one of our  present equines Professional Veterinarians through a scheduled appointment. The buyer will be permitted to attend  The Health and Wellness exam and pull blood for a  Coggins, CBC, radiographs or other tests at the buyers expense.

Veterinarians are not as accessible as they used to be and only 20 graduate with a degree every year now according to current data.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are in a very rural area and most veterinarians are not accessible or willing to travel for anyone other than their clients due to high demand of their time. Therefore we have derived a new process to accommodate a new client easily and fairly, for both the seller and the buyer, keeping it honest, informative & fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Disclaimer:

We nor our Veterinarians guarantee any horse for any sport. It is a living breathing animal and it just is not possible.

Examinations are a snapshot in time.

Emailing any reports to the seller/horse owner and the client/buyer simultaneously is mandatory. The buyer/client will be required to sign an "HWC" & PSA. Trainers bringing a client will also be required to sign the "HWC" request agreement.

This will be mandatory for the protection of the business operations and reputation. This also allows future dialog between the client/buyer and the owner/seller.
